Tarmin has updated its data defined storage solution to include social streamlining and improved analytics at reduced costs.

The GridBank 4.0 Data Management Platform has added support for Linux platforms as well as Windows, with both versions offering easier and quicker access to stored data through Enterprise Object Storage technology.

The solution also provides a common interface to any social media provider, allowing users to store and archive data for compliance, e-Discovery and analytics.

Tarmin said the solution would help data-heavy organisations in financial services, healthcare, oil and gas, life sciences, education and research institutions to leverage data effectively.

Steve Duplessie, founder and senior analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group, said: "With data growing exponentially, one of the greatest data management challenges is end-to-end protection, governance, discovery and access, no matter the file type, device or social origination."

"Tarmin’s latest release of GridBank is tailored to meet all the needs of organisations facing massive growth with unstructured data."

Shahbaz Ali, Tarmin president and CEO, said: "Due to the sheer volume of data stored these days, CTOs and CROs are seeking more automated data management approaches and GridBank is a game changer in this space."
