Tableau Software has released Tableau 5.2 of the Tableau product suite, which offers native connectivity to various new data sources and enhancements to the analytical maps.
According to Tableau, the new version comes with data connections including, Sybase IQ, Greenplum, ParAccel and Microsoft PowerPivot. It features map improvements including new map visual styles and greater international detail in addition to the fifteen other connectors already present in Tableau.
The company said that its release 5.2 includes a connection option to use the generic ODBC standard for accessing other databases. Its maps display data by providing geographic context for analysis and includes new visual style with improvements to font treatments and colours.
Tableau Software said that the new version offers increased levels of map detail worldwide for people to zoom into detailed views. It provides details to the North America, Western Europe and Australia/New Zealand regions to the street level, and rest of world to the city view level.
In addition, the new offering features a new ‘gray-style’ map style as an optional visual style that provides dramatic effect to highlight data.
