Systematic Development Group has launched LOK-IT Secure Flash Drive, a USB flash drive with a security technology that protects against hackers and password theft.
LOK-IT’s hardware-based security system requires users to log in on a self-contained, on-board PIN pad. The PIN pad is not connected to the host computer and the LOK-IT drive cannot be detected on any computer until the proper PIN is entered. That, combined with 256-bit AES hardware encryption protects from hackers and unauthorised use, the company claims.
The company said that its device works with all Windows, Mac, Linux operating systems, as well as with other office supporting the USB standard. It requires no software updates and is bootable from the drive.
According to Systematic development, the new secure flash drive comes with a 5- or 10-key PIN pad and is available with storage capacities of 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB. The 10-key model has an anodised aluminum shell filled with an epoxy potting, creating a damage-resistant barrier that is dust and waterproof up to IP-57 standards.
