Syntel, an information technology services and knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) firm, and Jaspersoft, a business intelligence (BI) software, have entered into an agreement to jointly deliver data warehousing and business intelligence offerings.

The companies said that the collaboration will enable customers to leverage BI tools to gain insight into their operations and make better business decisions.

The partnership builds on the joint delivery of a BI project for one of the world’s largest financial services firms. In addition to the Jaspersoft implementation, Syntel’s data warehousing and business intelligence centre of excellence delivered assessment, product and architecture selection, data modeling, enterprise data management, data mining and migration services.

Prashant Ranade, president and CEO of Syntel, said: “Today’s companies can gain a real competitive advantage by leveraging their data assets and making them available to employees. Jaspersoft’s BI suite achieves this with simple, powerful reporting and analytics that offers a compelling mix of functionality and economy.

Jose Morales, vice president for business development at Jaspersoft, said: Jaspersoft looks forward to expanding our relationship with Syntel as an implementation and integration partner. Syntel has a strong track record of executing large-scale data warehousing projects for its customers and truly understands the specific challenges each industry faces with its data.

“By integrating Jaspersoft’s BI Suite into its services mix, Syntel will offer a broader scope of enterprise-class functionality at a fraction of the cost of proprietary solutions on the market.”
