Smith Micro Software’s productivity and graphics group has announced the availability of CheckIt Netbook Utility Suite which it claims to address the common issues faced by Netbook users.

The company said that the new suite helps to optimise the registry, backs up the hard drive to protect important files and recovers lost files.

According to Smith Micro, the new suite consists of a Registry Cleaner which repairs corrupt registry settings left behind by deleted drivers and programmes that cause error messages, programme crashes, slow startup times and system crashes.

Other features include, StuffIt 2009 to compress photos, MP3s and email attachments, MediaRECOVER to find and recover deleted items such as photos, songs, videos and other files and EMC Retrospect Express HD to back up files and restore lost data to allow users to schedule automatic backups.
