Lenovo and SimpliVity are combining their technologies to provide hyperconverged infrastructure solutions.
SimpliVity’s OmniStack data virtualization platform will be offered as an integrated solution with Lenovo System x3650 servers, bringing all IT services below the hypervisor to a single device.
Compute, storage, and networking, real-time data deduplication, compression, and optimisation functions along with built-in backup, disaster recovery, and WAN optimization capabilities will all be provided via a single device.
The enterprise-grade hyperconverged solution provides a scalable, modular, 2U building block of x86 resources, eliminating cost and complexity by consolidating 8 to 12 data centre components into a single shared resource pool with global unified management.
Boasting 3x TCO savings through hyperconvergence, pay-as-you-grow flexibility, and 40:1 average data efficiency, the SimpliVity OmniStack Solution with Lenovo is designed to lower operating costs while keeping business-critical applications and cloud deployments running efficiently.
"Customers will benefit from SimpliVity’s new hyperconverged solution offerings, with Lenovo’s highly versatile enterprise servers as a foundation," said Brian Hamel, vice president and general manager, Lenovo North America Enterprise Business Group.
"These high-performance systems will exponentially reduce data center complexity and costs for cloud-based services and mission-critical transactional systems."
The SimpliVity OmniStack Solution with Lenovo System x3650 M5 is scheduled to be released in Q4 2015 through distributor Arrow.
