Sepaton, a provider of disk-based data protection offerings, has released a new multi-node midrange deduplication offering, which comes with an improved capacity optimisation and bandwidth utilisation for remote replication with DeltaStor and DeltaRemote software version 5.3. EMC NetWorker support is also added to the list of backup applications supported by DeltaStor and DeltaRemote.
According to Sepaton, the new S2100-MS2 with DeltaStor software features a dual node scalable system with an entry capacity of 36TB raw and 30TB usable and a maximum capacity of 192TB raw and 160TB usable. It performs at a speed of 1,200MB/sec and is upgradable to the S2100-ES2 series. The 5.3 software release also features centralised management capabilities with reporting for capacity planning and management applicable.
The company said that the new DeltaStor version 5.3 features support for EMC NetWorker versions 7.3, 7.4, and 7.5. It optimises results for all data types for supported versions of NetBackup, IBM TSM, HP Data Protector, and EMC NetWorker. In addition, it offers improved data reduction efficiency with enhancements to optimise deduplication for incremental backups, structured data and previously unsupported data types.
DeltaRemote version 5.3 includes support for six nodes for NetBackup, TSM and NetWorker. It reduces replication bandwidth requirements and concurrently replicates data while backups and deduplication are ongoing. It also offers replication control and summary status on a tape level to enable customers to manage and report on replication status, Sepaton said.

The Sepaton S2100-MS2 pricing starts at $321,000 which includes the DeltaStor license. Pricing for DeltaRemote starts at $11,000 per node.
