Seagate has unveiled BlackArmor NAS 440 and BlackArmor NAS 220 network storage servers, a new 4-bay and 2-bay desktop network attached storage offerings which help data-intensive small business address evolving storage needs.

Seagate said that new network storage servers extend the capacity range of its BlackArmor family of storage offerings, enabling businesses to scale from 1TB to 12TB to help keep pace with high-definition multi-media files and business critical data.

The two new network storage servers provides software management tools, support for Microsoft Active Directory 2000, 2003, 2008, security with efficient hardware-based encryption, and remote access with web-based Seagate global access service and FTP functionality.

In addition, both 4-bay and 2-bay servers offer Quick start features, full-system backup and recovery, event email notification and an additional USB ports to connect extra USB storage devices.

The BlackArmor NAS 440 server is configured with RAID 5 and ships with 10 backup software licenses, while BlackArmor NAS 220 server ships with RAID 1 configuration for automatic data mirroring and 5 backup software licenses.
