SAS launches VMware-based software

Business intelligence provider SAS has introduced new software to monitor and manage IT operations in virtual data centers.

The company said it integrates technology from VMware to streamline and simplify resource utilization to enable IT resource forecasting and planning. SAS said it also enables data centers to automatically run, manage, and predict IT needs.

Keith Collins, vice president and chief technology officer at SAS, said: This partnership with VMware extends SAS’s expertise in managing open systems and mainframes to virtual environments.
