SAS offers MS Office integration in BI Server and Enterprise BI Server

Releases Scoring Accelerator for IBM DB2 for in-database analytic processing

By CBR Staff Writer

SAS is offering Microsoft Office integration in SAS BI Server and Enterprise BI Server with new support for access through Outlook.

BI Scorecard founder Cindi Howson siad the enhancement to SAS Microsoft Office integration takes the integration of BI and e-mail to a new level, with the e-mail client used as a navigation tool to access all reports and dashboards.

"Folders on the SAS BI Server automatically appear as folders in Outlook. From within Outlook, users can view, refresh or send a report to another person," Howson said.

The SAS Business Analytics Framework includes industry and line-of-business offerings, as well as analytic, data management, query and reporting technologies.

SAS has also released a new software, Scoring Accelerator for IBM DB2, which is designed to offer the benefit of in-database analytic processing.

IBM general manager and SAS partnership executive Bob Hoey said this capability will enable their mutual customers to best exploit the advanced technology of IBM InfoSphere Warehouse, powered by DB2.

"With a tighter integration between IBM Data Warehouse software and Systems and the SAS technology, our joint customers will be able to reduce the time required to build and deploy vital business models," Hoey said.

SAS said that its Scoring Accelerator for DB2 provides faster access to analytical results, and will publish Enterprise Miner models and score data directly within IBM DB2 without the need for manual recoding of scoring routines.
