SAP updates mobile app to simplify business intelligence, analytics

The updated app incorporates mobile business intelligence and analytics in a single app.

By CBR Staff Writer

SAP has incorporated multiple business intelligence (BI) and analytics applications into a new edition of its mobile application known as Business Objects Mobile app.

Currently launched for Apple’s iOS powered devices, the new 5.0 version of the app allows users to work together through the SAP JAM social software platform, execute voice commands as an annotation and raise questions and receive answers with ExplorationViews.

SAP new App

The updated SAP BusinessObjects Mobile app enables accessing multiple sources of analytic content with a single application that allows customers to do business on-the-go with mobile analytics.

SAP said that as organisations shift from a predominantly PC-based workforce to mobile, they cannot afford to have employees disconnected from the enterprise when critical decisions need to be made.

"The new 5.0 release puts the power of mobile analytics from SAP in one place, enabling users to easily interact with reports and dashboards," the enterprise software maker said.

The application incorporates SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence software, SAP BusinesObjects Explorer software, SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio, SAP Crystal Reports software, SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards software, the SAP EPM Unwired mobile app and the SAP Lumira Cloud platform.

The company also released a new software development kit along with the BusinessObjects Mobile, enabling customising mobile analytic applications as per business and security needs, brand requirements and enterprise mobility schemes.
