SAP, NetApp extend collaboration to integrate storage with database and analytics

Both firms are also planning to extend their collaboration into new areas to add-on further benefits for customers

Sap and NetApp have extended their partnership to integtrate storage with database, analytics and application.

The collaboration will look to speed up the installation and the delivery of database, analytics and application as well as support the SAP HANA platform and SAP NetWeaver Landscape Virtualization Management software.

SAP Global Managing Board member SAP Global Customer Operations president Rob Enslin said, "Expanding our partnership with NetApp provides our customers with increased scalability and data protection, while at the same time allowing for greater management of data growth and adaptability to our customers’ changing on-demand needs."

According to the company, by incorporating its database solutions with NetApp’s storage and data management application, the firms will offer an agile data infrastructure for SAP applications that assist in in turn provide competitive advantage, while reducing ownership costs.

SAP HANA is aimed at allowing customers analyse big data and enhance decision making in real time, while it is also encourage Cisco’s UCS with NetApp Storage application that combines the Cisco’s Unified Computing System with NetApp unified storage systems.

NetApp Field Operations executive vice president Rob Salmon said that the expanded relationship businesses to access to powerful integrated application that help to reduce total cost of operations and drive greater business agility.

"NetApp storage solutions ease the deployment and management of landscapes running SAP solutions and accelerate the transition our customers are making to cloud-based agile data infrastructures," Salmon said.

NetApp application for SAP offering are aimed at speeding up business success by leveraging swift data infrastructure.

Both firms are also planning to extend their collaboration into new areas to add-on further benefits for customers including SAP database offering, integrations around SAP NetWeaver Landscape Virtualization Management and cloud-based system management automation in addition to optimising performance and availability of data management application for SAP HANA.
