Samsung has started mass production of the world’s fastest embedded memory devices for mobile devices.

The South Korean electronics giant will manufacture the embedded memory with capacities of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB for next-generation smartphones and tablets.

According to the company, the eMMC PRO memory, featuring an interface speed of 400mbps, will allow faster multi-tasking, web-browsing, application downloading and file transfers, as well as high-definition video capture and playback.

Samsung memory marketing VP KyongMoo Mang said that with the eMMC PRO line-up offering over ten times the performance of external memory cards, the company will speed up the spread of high-end mobile devices as the market for devices with larger screens and more multimedia functionality grows.

"We will continue to provide advanced mobile memory solutions that allow users to enjoy high definition, large-volume content seamlessly, as we also strengthen technological cooperation with mobile devices manufacturers," Mang said.

Based on Samsung 64Gb 10nm class NAND flash technology, the new memory chips are claimed to offer random read and write speed of 7000IOPS as well as read sequentially at 250MBPS and write sequentially at 90MBPS.
