Samsung introduces NAND-based USB 3.0 flash drives

The devices will be available in 128GB capacity in each form factor later this year.

By CBR Staff Writer

Samsung has released a line up USB 3.0 flash drives (UFD) in three ergonomic form factors, based on Samsung NAND flash technology.

The devices are compatible with USB 2.0 and are equipped with Samsung’s 5-proof technologies, and will be available in metal-based design.

The USB 3.0 flash drives are available in Bar type, FIT type, and DUO type.

The bar type measures 40mm long and weighs less than 9 grams, and has been given a modern look with a light champagne colour, streamlined spherical end, and metal casing for added durability.

Users will be able to easily insert and extract the drive from devices, and it can also double as a subtle key ring to help prevent loss.

It is specifically designed to be used in PC’s as it offers speed of up to 130MB/s allowing users to download a 2.4GB full HD video from the UFD to their device in less than 20 seconds.

The bar type USB will be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models.
