Saffron Technology, a provider of experience management offerings for business and government, has launched Natural Intelligence Platform Version 8.0 (Saffron 8), a cloud-ready representation and reasoning offering built on associative memory technology.

The company claims that the associative memory base can capture all possible connections within a data set in real time. Saffron said that it has engineered a proprietary distributed associative memory store and map-reduce ingestion process, allowing it to scale to billions of connections and capable of solving enterprise-scale problems.

The new architecture in Saffron 8 is a streaming data analytics offering that is queryable in sense-making and decision-support, and integrates with legacy and software applications, the company said.

Saffron said that the new version ingests live source data and makes it available to decision makers in real time. It includes SaffronMemoryBase, SaffronAnalyst and Saffron REST APIs for data ingestion and query. The Rest APIs for Reasoning Methods provide application and utility views of SaffronMemoryBase for application development.

Manny Aparicio, CEO of Saffron Technology, said: Saffron 8 is a single-store solution that moves companies beyond age-old batch data mining or fragmented, multi-store business intelligence approaches, and into Experience Management. Saffron 8 stores the connections and frequencies in all your data, providing a dynamic resource where, thanks to the natural interplay between system and user, Experience is continuously in the making.

Saffron 8 integrates easily with third-party ETL applications on the back end, and with presentation and reporting tools on the front end. It is built on current standards for componentisation, to openly incorporate modern tools such as REST interfaces for SOA integration, and service and user-interface mash-ups for complete flexibility.
