Red Hat has announced new product enhancements which are designed to help enterprises to get more out of their Big Data.
Red Hat JBoss Data Virtualisation 6.1 and Red Hat JBoss Data Grid 6.4 are designed to address challenges created by the integration of Big Data, with the hope of providing faster and more accurate application data feeds.
JBoss Data Virtualisation is a data integration and services solution which is designed to unify multiple data sources, with the outcome of providing the right data in the right form.
This 6.1 solution expands support of JBoss Data Grid as a data source with the ability to perform writes, in addition to reads as well as providing an embedded cache to the remote cache capability.
Noel Yuhanna, principal analyst, Forrester, said: "Big data integration helps enterprises process large amounts of data on big data platforms quickly to support numerous use cases."
"It offers the ability to orchestrate data flow and processing across various big data platforms to support a single version of the true, consumer personalization, and data aggregation."
The JBoss Data Grid is Red Hat’s in-memory data store and is now fully supported with the bi-directional read/write integration in the JBoss Data Virtualisation 6.1 release.
With these enhancements, the integration service will be able to take advantage of the library mode in JBoss Data Grid. This means that use will be enabled either as an embedded cache or as a remote cache.
