Quest Software has unveiled two products in the SQL Server performance management space. The new release of Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise, which now features business intelligence (BI) monitoring, coupled with the launch of Foglight for SQL Server, enables database administrators (DBAs) to detect, diagnose and resolve SQL Server performance issues.
The company said that monitoring and diagnostics tool Spotlight on SQL Server features integrated monitoring and diagnostic capabilities for SSAS. It provides DBAs with data on analysis services performance and processing in an graphical representation of SSAS architecture.
According to Quest, Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise also offers automated CPU diagnosis, which affords users detailed visibility into CPU conditions from both SQL Server and Windows perspectives within a single location, empowering database and systems administrators to troubleshoot issues collaboratively.
The new version also integrates direct links to its SQLServerPedia portal from dashboard, giving users access to detailed information on SQL Server performance issues via expert blogs, wiki posts, and video tutorials, the company said.
Quest said that Foglight for SQL Server, a web-based monitoring and diagnostic offering based on the Foglight framework, offers 100% remote monitoring with optimised collections, providing users with a complete offering for monitoring their entire SQL Server infrastructure.
