US based Business Discovery application provider, QlikTech has launched QlikView Direct Discovery which claimed to provide direct access to big data sources within QlikView apps.

Direct Discovery can link data already loaded in-memory with big data sources helping in faster visual analysis, without the need of choosing between direct access to big data or pre-loading data in-memory, the company said.

QlikView Direct Discovery can directly query tables without a complicated ETL process, allowing business users to access vast information sources which were earlier out of reach.

The company said it unifies data silos giving users the data they need when they need it without time or affecting productivity.

QlikView Direct Discovery offers users access to big data with the entire associative search options, allowing users to explore information freely rather than being confined to a predefined path of questions, the company said.

This insight for everyone can be deployed in a mobile environment or with a social and collaborative experience.

QlikTech chief technology officer Anthony Deighton said by directly connecting to the largest data warehouses as well as leveraging data loaded in memory, this opens up the possibilities for countless new QlikView applications.

"Now, big data sets can get the big business brains behind them to make all of those insights actionable for results," Deighton said.
