Permabit Technology has released Cloud Storage platform, designed to address the demands of service providers and fit into their application hosting infrastructure.

Permabit claims that the new Cloud Storage platform’s grid architecture enables service providers to expand and upgrade storage from terabytes to petabytes.

According to Permabit, the new storage platform features include: base configurations up to 144TB raw disk capacity to provide initial deployment options; the grid architecture allows for storage growth without having to take the system offline or interrupt user access; and built–in data protection through RAIN–EC technology providing the protection to client data.

In addition, it also includes multi–tenancy capabilities which provide the ability to host thousands of customers’ data securely within a single product. For improved levels of security, built–in AES encryption can be enabled, the company said.

The company is also released new features to all of its storage products. These features include: enhanced performance monitoring, new command line tools, phone home logging, and RAIN–EC Intelligent Recovery technology.

Tom Cook, president and CEO of Permabit, said: With the Permabit Cloud Storage Solution for Service Providers, we become the supplier that enables service providers to offer the best and most reliable storage with the efficiency of dedupe and without a heavy, up–front financial investment.”
