Paragon Software introduces Migrate OS to SSD technology

Safe Windows PC system migration to all types of Solid-State Drives

By CBR Staff Writer

Paragon Software (PSG), a provider of data security and data management offerings, has introduced Migrate OS to SSD, a new technology development for netbook and notebook users upgrading their PCs to Solid-State Drives (SSD).

The new Migrate OS to SSD consists a wizard, which detects all existing Windows operating systems at launch and allows users to specify to which OS they want to migrate, which the wizard picks one or two partitions (Windows 7 may have Microsoft System Reserved, a special hidden partition that contains critical boot files) and prompts the user to select a destination disk.

If the selected disk capacity can hold the OS, the software starts the migration, and if the disk capacity is not sufficient, the offering prompts the user to exclude unnecessary files or folders until the proper size is reached.

The company said that the new Migrate OS to SSD features include: automatic partitions resize capability; Microsoft Reserved Partition awareness; file exclusion/selection capability; and smooth operation on different computer configurations.
