Overland Storage, a provider of data management and data protection offerings, has introduced the NEO E Series enterprise backup and archive offerings utilising LTO-5 technology.

The company claims that its NEO 2000E, NEO 4000E and NEO 8000 offerings provide nearly twice the performance and a 20% increase in data throughput compared to their LTO-4 based predecessors and supports storage capacities ranging from 45 terabytes to 3 petabytes and data transfer rates of 24 Terabytes per hour.

The company has launched the NEO Upgrade and Save Program wherein current NEO customers can receive cash rebates by upgrading their legacy NEO tape drive technologies to higher capacity technologies, including the new LTO-5 offerings.
