Oracle has unveiled GoldenGate, a new offering that is designed to deliver real-time data integration and bulk data transformation. It also provides data quality, business intelligence (BI) and online transaction processing (OLTP) performance and continuous data availability for mission-critical systems.

According to Oracle, the new offering delivers real-time data integration and replication technology to Oracle Fusion Middleware and provides a heterogeneous data integration platform.

In addition, it allows data movement between heterogeneous source and target systems with minimal overhead on the IT infrastructure, enabling real-time BI offerings, multi-directional data synchronisation for distributed systems, zero downtime system upgrades, disaster recovery and migrations between heterogeneous databases, OS platforms and servers.

The company said that the GoldenGate moves data in sub-seconds, and avoids performance impact on source systems and the network by capturing only committed changed data from transaction logs and maintains transaction integrity while moving the data. In addition, it uses check-pointing mechanism, in the event of interruptions and outages, to continue with data movement from where it left off.

The new offering also supports open systems/open source and legacy databases on all major platforms and can be deployed unidirectional or bidirectional in multiple topologies.

In addition, it also offers GoldenGate Veridata, data comparison software that identifies and reports on data discrepancies between heterogeneous databases without impacting their availability; and Management Pack for GoldenGate, a service that enables management of GoldenGate deployments across the enterprise.

Hasan Rizvi, senior vice president for Oracle Fusion Middleware, said: Oracle GoldenGate helps organisations harness the value of their IT investments and improve business operations by providing continuous access to business-critical information in real-time – resulting in improved business intelligence across the enterprise, with more accurate and timely analysis of business performance.
