Novell, a provider in intelligent workload management, has unveiled Novell Operations Center, a business service management offering that monitors, maps and measures mission-critical services in physical, virtual and cloud computing infrastructures.
Novell Operations Center, formerly known as Novell Business Service Manager, features a tight integration with Novell identity; security and systems management offerings; and integration with Amazon EC2.
Novell Operations Center enables an enterprises to have a real-time view of their IT infrastructure to measure the quality of service they deliver to the business, the company said.
Novell Operations Center monitors performance and availability and maps service models to meet compliance while providing automated, real-time measurement. It lets businesses integrate their existing tool investments and enables organisations to take advantage of lower-cost open source offerings at their pace.
Novell Management and Operating Platforms senior vice president and general manager of security Jim Ebzery said businesses need offerings that can tap into their existing data centre sources and applications and deliver a view of their IT infrastructure in terms of a service.
"Novell Operations Center reduces risk by controling mixed physical, virtual and cloud infrastructures, while giving their customers increased flexibility to respond to changing market conditions," Ebzery said.
