nlyte Software has launched nlyte Express Edition, an entry-level data centre infrastructure management (DCIM) offering for organisations to manage their data centre infrastructure.

The DCIM services provider said that the new offering is designed to quickly and easily migrate any size of company away from using disaggregated desktop technologies such as Microsoft Excel and Visio towards an integrated DCIM software product that fully manages their physical data centre infrastructure.

The company said that with nlyte Express, users can quickly create and deliver a data-driven, visual representation of the data centre floor, and automatically find the safest location to place any asset, preventing outages and minimising downtime.

nlyte Express is built on the same platform as nlyte’s enterprise DCIM Suite.

Key features of the nlyte Express Edition include a central repository of data centre asset information, the ability to map asset relationships and dependencies, real-time visualisation of the data centre’s physical capacities, and ‘What If’ modeling scenarios. The company said that the offering is pre-packaged with online training courses and services.

nlyte Software president and CEO Jon Temple said it is surprising that 99 companies out of 100 today still use fragmented desktop tools to manage one of their company’s most sophisticated and vital assets — the data centre.

"In the future every organisation will use DCIM for management of their physical infrastructure and here at nlyte Software we wanted to find a way for any size of company to get the benefits today. Express Edition is designed to do just that and in so doing we will help accelerate the democratisation of DCIM," said Temple.
