Nine Technology, a provider of online backup and recovery technology for managed service providers, has enhanced its ‘Powered by Nine’ data protection offerings with new features, which are designed to make disaster recovery planning easier.

The company said that through the enhance offering partners can now start their clients’ data security with new mechanisms that speed up the procedure of the business continuity process.

The new features include seeded initial backups shipped to the data centre; semi-continuous data protection; granular SQL server backups using VSS snapshots; automated self-service branding of partner client software; web-based restore processes; and updated, easier-to-control GUI.

By implementing seeded initial backups, semi-continuous data protection and web-based restore processes allows for a faster, robust disaster recovery offering for MSPs, the company said.

Nine Technology senior vice president Gene Fay said that these new elements of the ‘Powered by Nine’ offering set give the company’s partners and their customers an even more comprehensive online backup and recovery service offering.
