NextIO, a provider of I/O virtualisation application, and Marvell, a provider of PCIe-based storage products, have collaborated to provide PCIe-based flash storage offering in the NextIO PCIe system.

NextIO said that its applications provide I/O virtualisation that enables the pooling and sharing of server resources, a mixture of solid-state drives (SSDs) as well as other standard PCIe-based I/O such as GPUs.

The companies claimed that their new storage application could achieve over 200,000 IOPs and 400GB per PCIe slot. With a total of 12 PCIe slots, the product delivers over one million IOPs and 4 terabytes of SSD storage in 3U.

Alan Armstrong, vice president of marketing of storage business unit at Marvell Semiconductor, said: “Marvell is pleased to be supporting NextIO’s high-speed PCIe storage system products. NextIO’s I/O virtualisation solutions are leading the market in price, performance, and flexibility for demanding HPC applications.”
