Netgear unveils backup app ReadyNAS Replicate

Multi-site backup, restore and disaster recovery

By CBR Staff Writer

Netgear has unveiled new software application ReadyNAS Replicate that simplifies multi-site backup, restore and disaster recovery in businesses and enterprise branch offices.

The new app provides a single interface that enables customers to schedule multi-site backup jobs and to restore files across locations.

The company said that ReadyNAS Replicate comes with an integrated snapshot management and embedded VPN connections, that improves reliability over do-it-yourself arrangements.

The new application’s single management console simplifies backup and restore between company headquarters and its remote office and allows resellers to use it to deliver managed backup and recovery services to individual end user locations.

Netgear director of storage marketing Drew Meyer said the company continues to address the backup needs of smart IT groups in small businesses or large firms with multiple branch offices.

"The combination of affordable desktop storage platforms with a reliable and simple data management application simply gives VARs and end users a smarter offering," Meyer said.
