Netgear launches ReadyNAS Pro family of storage products

VMware, Microsoft, hybrid cloud and disk-based backup and recovery offerings

Netgear has launched ReadyNAS Pro family of business storage products to provide performance and reliability, enabling VMware, Microsoft, hybrid cloud and disk-based backup and recovery offerings.

The company said the new storage products have been designed for businesses seeking smart IT offerings without the price premium of traditional vendors and includes 2-bay, 4-bay, and 6-bay desktop products.

In addition, these products deliver throughput, warranty and disk drive specifications for business applications, and provide 3rd party certifications.

Netgear said that the new storage products are ideal for reliable small-scale virtualisation projects including: VMware Ready certification for vSphere; and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 certification for Hyper-V.

The storage products are affordable disk-based backup applications that are officially supported Symantec Backup Exec agent in this product class; and has Veeam and Vizioncore backup software compatibility for virtual environments.

In addition, the storage products are suitable for hybrid cloud services and comes with a free 12 month, 100GB ReadyNAS Vault cloud archive subscription for online file archive and disaster recovery; and has ReadyNAS Remote, an automatic VPN service for secure remote access
