Micro Focus has announced the release of Vertica 9, a new analytics platform offering enhanced machine learning capabilities.

The new in-database machine learning developments are intended to simplify the creation and deployment of machine learning models, bringing on board new algorithms and data preparation functions.

In addition to this, continuous end-to-end workflows and model replication are also new features included in Vertica 9 to achieve this goal. New support for the Google Cloud Platform will enhance the user’s freedom, while scalability and performance have also been targeted.

Colin Mahony, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Vertica, Micro Focus, said: “Data is a one of the most valuable assets for companies, and a company’s ability to monetize their data while optimizing for both cost and performance at scale is already a fundamental differentiator in every industry… Vertica’s ability to analyze an extensive set of data formats in the right place, at the right time, enables our customers to optimize for both cloud economics and user demands.

Micro Focus targets Machine learning with Vertica 9 analytics platformMachine learning has become a top tech trend recently, despite having been relevant for many years. The technology is now required more than ever to handle vast quantities of information, and to ascertain trends from vast data sets.

Abhishek Sharma, Data Scientist at Fidelis Cybersecurity, said: “Fidelis has the first and only purpose-built, automated detection and response platform that delivers 10-20x efficiency for security operations teams.
