Sweden’s IT-provider Logica launched private cloud for the public sector built on Microsoft’s cloud platform and meet the Swedish Data Inspectorate’s regulatory framework for cloud providers to the public sector.

The partnership is expected to help Logica to bring together its consulting and IT-services in their own Swedish data centre with industry-specific offerings based on Microsoft infrastructure for private cloud: Hyper-V Cloud, Exchange Online, Sharepoint Online and Lync Online which creates secure and reliable offerings, ensuring data stays within Sweden’s borders, is not shared with other clients, complies with Swedish law and regulations such as PUL, and that only the right person has access to information.

Logica Sweden public sector head Fredrik Ahlstedt said the partnership brings new opportunities for Swedish Public Sector clients, who will have access to the latest tools from Microsoft in the cloud.

"The services will help our clients increase their productivity and reduce their costs, because they will pay per user per month," said Ahlstedt.

Microsoft Public Sector sales director Marie Ygge said Microsoft is very pleased that Logica has chosen to launch public sector cloud services based on Microsoft’s technology offerings.

"Logica has a deep understanding of the public sector built on decades of experience. This, combined with our leading cloud infrastructure, I believe, will be a very attractive combination for many Swedish Public Sector clients," said Ygge.
