Blue Yonder and Atos have partnered to assist MBA students at the London Business School (LBS) on how data analytics can solve a range of business and public sector problems.

An event was organised at Atos’s business technology innovation centre in London to demonstrate how technology and data analytics were moved from the IT department to the business.

The students were informed about the opportunities and challenges of collecting and analysing information for the benefit of business

Atos presented analytics business scenarios, and several industry experts explained on how they utilised data analytics to enhance their business outcomes

LBS assistant professor of management science and operations Gah-Yi Vahn said: "Big Data is an elusive buzzword everyone is talking about, and I am very pleased to have clarified what it means by introducing the students to successful business cases Blue Yonder and Atos have worked on.

"As using Big Data correctly can generate so much value, increased use of analytics technology in organisations is an inevitable trend. We added this course to the MBA programme because future executives need to understand how Big Data analytics can affect decision-making and strategy to lead companies."

Atos head of analytics Christian Benson said: "Data and analytics will play a larger than ever role in the 21st century; particularly in the way businesses or organisations compete with each other or improve cost efficiency."
