Laurus Technologies, an IT consulting and professional services firm, said that it will expand its managed services offerings to include archiving and backup services.

The company claims that new capabilities will allow the firm to meet the needs of the estimated 40% of the market that is looking for a hosted backup and archive service. The services will be based on Symantec’s Enterprise Vault platform.

According to Laurus, the managed service offering will be based on a network of Tier IV SAS 70 Type II data centers, running Symantec Enterprise Vault.

In addition to backup and archive services, Laurus’ managed services line includes SaaS, Master Data Management for SAP and Oracle, and a suite of hosted security services.

Brian Wolfe, partner and co-founder of Laurus Technologies, said: “Customers have told us they are interested in solutions that move their backup and archiving requirements into the cloud so they can focus their resources on pressing business initiatives. Our announcement today represents our commitment to deliver the highest standards in robust, reliable and certified remote backup solutions, without additional capital investment to our customers.”
