UAE-based ISnSC R&D FZ launched its first Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) platform. Primarily targeted at law enforcement agencies fighting cyber terrorism, cyber crime and online paedophiles, the platform will be known as The Providence OSINT.
Open-source intelligence (OSINT) is a form of intelligence collection management that involves finding, selecting, and acquiring information from publicly available sources and analysing it to produce actionable intelligence, according to Wikipedia.
The Providence OSINT platform reportedly aims to provide a more robust approach on analysis by grasping all information feeds to produce identities, links, context, trends and instant translation.
ISnSC R&D FZ managing director Sherif Hazzaa said that OSINT application was increasing worldwide and that they were proud to take such an initiative in the region either as a product or as a service. Hazzaa added, "Our clients range from government agencies to news agencies or even marketing firms who are looking for easier research tools, and it is amazing what our platform can do."
The Providence OSINT platform can be extended to embrace different information sources such as radio, TV, blogs, databases, etc. It can also be extended to view a video, grab the voice, convert it to text and perform active analysis on the speech, the company added.
