Intel to launch high performance computing cluster

Clusters are used for large, compute intense tasks such as models, data analysis and prototyping

By CBR Staff Writer

Intel is planning to launch high performance computing cluster for small businesses located in the Tech City area in London.

The cluster has a capacity of 2.25 teraFLOPS, which will be made available to companies of all sizes to access advanced technology and the data within these clusters is inherently secure.

In order to deliver maximum security, only one customer at a time will be able to use the cluster which ensures that there is no opportunity for data to become compromised, giving businesses in the area the opportunity and advantage to bring their products and services to market fast, said the company.

Intel has choosen Tech City Company Chatterbox Analytics to pilot the service and the service will now become available on a first come, first served basis where companies will be able use this facility how they want.

Intel said the clusters are used for large, compute intense tasks such as models, data analysis and prototyping.

Intel UK Public Affairs director Tristan Wilkinson said companies are demanding more and more computing power, the High Performance Computing clusters will enable young companies to get a competitive edge in the market by testing real world scenarios and developing new products faster.
