Intel makes a play for gamers, enhancing experience with 8th Gen Intel Core

Play enhanced with Intel's latest Core edition, but what makes it the "best gaming processor to date"?

Intel has made two significant announcements, revealing its latest Intel Core Processor and Intel Core X-series Extreme Edition.

A new family of 8th Gen Intel Core desktop processors has been revealed by Intel, which features the “best gaming processor to date”, according to the chip maker company.

Intel’s newest processor has been built fit for content creators, gamers and over clockers that need the most premium performance. The processor has a range on offer, from Intel Core i3 to Intel Core i7, delivering premium performance to allow for faster, easier and more immersive user experiences.

Branded as the best gaming processor to date by the company, its new release delivers frame rate improvements by 25% and gives users the smoothest gaming experience, with up to 65% faster editing in content creation maximising their user experience.

Intel’s newest edition gives the best performance yet.

Content creation will be made easier with the new processor by saving time to create more. The newest edition is 32% faster at video editing compared to previous processors and 65% quicker at editing content.

The overall platform for the desktop processor is at its best in the 8th edition, bringing over 50 new motherboard and system designs available from various providers, with improved power delivery for overclocking and memory routing.

Intel’s newest family of processors includes the first 6-core i5 desktop processor and first 4-core Intel Core i3 desktop processor. Unlocked “K” processors will offer a wide range of performance options for customers, giving them the highest flexibility and expandability for graphics, storage and I/O. Each processor is supported with new Intel Z370 chipset-based motherboards.

“Our 8th Gen Intel Core desktop processors deliver tremendous improvements across the board and – for gamers, in particular– offer an unbeatable experience.”

In addition to the chipmakers desktop processor release, the company has also revealed the arrival of Intel Core X-series Extreme Edition 18-core Processor. The new Extreme Edition offers a significantly better level of power to content creators, giving them the ability to carry out extreme mega-tasking, give them a editing and virtual reality (VR) video editing and rendering and also a full studio on customers’ computers.

Intel expect 80% better performance levels than previous models for VR content creation and 60% quicker editing over the previous versions.

The latest editions of Intel’s desktop processors will be available from October 5th 2017.
