This is quite a cool new infographic from storage player NetApp, showing how for example that while the typical X-ray is around 30MB, 3D MRI scans weigh in at a more lardy 150MB. It suggests by 2016 the average hospital will generate 665 Terabytes of data in a year. The data is fairly US-centric but much of the same storage challenges are already being faced by our treasured NHS.
