Infobright, a open source data warehousing company, and Jaspersoft, a provider of the business intelligence (BI) software, have introduced an integrated virtual machine download. This freely available open source bundle includes Infobright’s analytic database and Jaspersoft’s BI software that enables users deploy an analytic application.

The companies said the bundle includes Infobright community edition (ICE) which is said to be optimised for analytic applications and data warehousing deployments.

The new offering also includes JasperServer community edition which offers dashboards, a report repository, and report scheduling; and JasperAnalysis community edition which is an OLAP server to allow business analysts or executives to analyse data for determining trends, such as sales across regions and time.

Brian Gentile, CEO and president of Jaspersoft, said: This integrated download makes it simple for users to immediately deploy a full-featured reporting and analytics system with a highly scalable database.

“Companies that require more advanced capabilities or support can easily upgrade to the low-cost commercial versions of these products, saving time and money as compared to proprietary products.
