InetSoft Technology, a provider of dashboard, reporting and mashup offerings, has launched a new business intelligence software application Style Intelligence, which includes new data visualisation capabilities for geographic charting.
The company said that the mapping of business data has been enhanced to combine multi-dimensional charting and geographic charting, allowing interactive dashboards to display continuous measures such as population or sales volume by using colour ranges across any geographically defined boundary on the local, state and national levels, and even custom-defined areas such as sales regions or political districts.
According to InetSoft, the Style Intelligence is a full-featured business intelligence offering that is 100% Java at the server level, and HTML, JavaScript, and Flash at the client level. Combined with its SOA architecture and open standards-based technology, makes for an embedding and integration-ready application for dashboards and reporting.
The company claims that the integration of mapping and chart engines also allows for the use of multi-charts that compare multiple maps side-by-side, and also permits the combination of data tables alongside visual maps of data so that drilling-down into a region displays custom metrics and detailed data.
Mark Flaherty, vice president of marketing at InetSoft, said: A well-designed dashboard that provides interactive controls and features like list filtering allow a person to drill through geographically structured information in just a few clicks to find answers.
“With non-integrated solutions, you might have to use one application to visually identify a geographical point of interest, and another to then report the data associated with that region. Our integrated solution offers ease of use and leads to quicker decisions; benefits that any organization can appreciate.
