IDV Solutions has released Visual Fusion SaaS, a product that combines the benefits of its Visual Fusion visual mashup software with the advantages of software as a service.
The company said that the new product enables organisations to create an unlimited number of mashups and data visualisations within a Microsoft SharePoint portal on IDV-managed servers.
The Visual Fusion SaaS also lets users develop new offerings in areas such as physical security and asset management, situational awareness, retail analysis and supply chain management.
Using site templates and drag-and-drop tools, users can unite SharePoint List and Library content, Web feeds, ShapeFiles, spreadsheets, documents, and more in a single view on top of Bing Maps. The product includes a highly responsive user interface, which organisations can brand with custom logos and icons.
IDV said that the Visual Fusion SaaS deployment includes a SharePoint portal, where users can publish websites, wikis, blogs, and other content, in addition to Visual Fusion mashups. VF SaaS includes Bing Maps for Enterprise services, support services, and data storage, backup and security.
Ian Clemens, chief technology officer of IDV Solutions, said: Moving into the SaaS environment lets us offer the power to visualise, interact with, and collaborate around data to a wider group of customers.
“With the SaaS option, we can provide a superior user interface and the advantages of mashups to organisations that need to minimise the costs of infrastructure or the risks of new application development.
