IDrive, an online backup service, has launched a Web-based management utility to add to its feature set, to enable users directly edit their backup sets and set scheduling parameters including frequency and notification.
Integrating Web-based controls into the backup desktop application will extend the usability of IDrive, thereby enabling centralised control and management of online backup for an entire branch office or multiple departments from anywhere, the company said.
Pro Softnet CEO Raghu Kulkarni says Web-based backup management has been an online backup product offerings company, and with this feature addition, they bring a cost effective enterprise class feature to the consumer and SMB market.
IDrive project lead Jayram K said a family pack user can administer the backup of multiple PCs remotely, or a business account user can administer backups for computers offsite from a central console via web from anywhere.
IDrive is one of the services providers in the field of online backup, and combined with IBackup offers online backup services for both Windows and Mac.
