IceWEB, a provider of Unified Data Storage and building blocks for cloud storage networks, has integrated STEC’s MACH16 and MACH8 Solid State Drives (SSDs) into its 3000/5000 Unified Data Storage Cluster System.

The integrated STEC’s MACH16 and MACH8 SSDS are delivered to Honeywell Federal Manufacturing and Technologies for use by the US government.

IceWEB leverages the key performance features of STEC SSD drives to enhance overall system efficiency, thus selected the STEC Enterprise MACH family of SSDs due in part to their powerful error correcting code (ECC) mechanisms, which ensure the protection of data transferred to the drives.

The company said that the unified storage applications represent opportunity to leverage the key reliability features of the MACH family of drives.

IceWEB federal channel manager Tim McNamee said the ability to successfully integrate STEC SSD drives with the IceWEB 3000/5000 Storage Appliance further enhances the value proposition that IceWEB and its channel partners bring to its customers.

"This could result in increased acceptance of IceWEB as a provider of state-of-the art world class offerings to a customer’s storage requirements," McNamee said.
