i2, a provider of intelligence and investigation management software, has unveiled Analyst’s Notebook 8, a new version of the visual investigative analysis software that enables law enforcement, intelligence, military and commercial organisations to provide clarity to investigations and intelligence analysis.
i2 claims that the new analysis software offers analytical and visualisation functionality that allows organisations to uncover connections, associations, trends and patterns hidden within data sets and enables users to transform that knowledge into action.
The new analysis software includes: the analytical tools which reportedly offer insights into data sets, allowing analysts to understand association, temporal, geospatial and social connections and patterns in data; it also enables users to map chart items to Google Earth and capture an understanding of geospatial patterns within a given data set.
The analysis software also includes:Dynamic Filtering functionality that is expected to provide visual feedback on any aspect of a data set to allow identification of areas of interests; integrated social network analysis capabilities – to enable users identify, understand and disrupt the social dynamics of terrorist, criminal, fraud and other networks; and conditional formatting that is claimed to allow users to define a set of rules to automate the process of formatting chart data and enable organisations to leverage subject matter expertise across the organisation.
The company said that the new analysis software is a component of the new i2 Intelligence-Led Operations Platform and is designed to work independently or as an integrated component of the platform.
