Huawei today revealed its FusionCube for SAP Hana solution for the energy and chemical group, Sinopec.

The announcement was made at CeBIT 2015, where the company confirmed plans to join with SAP to provide a large scale single cluster solution.

The new product is aimed at tackling the data produced by Sinopec as the group keeps expanding.

Sinopec owns the world’s largest data warehouse containing over 202 EMP solutions. By using distributed storage software, PCIe SSDs, and 56 Gbps InfiniBand networks, the organisation will be able to build a high-performance SAP HANA database platform.

The first version of the FusionCube for SAP HANA solution was first announced by Huawei at last year’s CeBIT.

Li Jianfeng, Deputy Director of the Information Management Department of Sinopec, said: "With the increasing applications in these years, our user base and service plane grow continuously and more and more data needs to be processed. In the era of Big Data, efficiency data processing and analysis was high on the agenda.

"We decided to use SAP Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) HANA after comparison. But this technology cannot work without a hardware platform. Finally, we chose Huawei as our long-term partner to test and optimise the platform.

"Through optimisation and tests for a period, Huawei FusionCube for SAP HANA provides superior performance, significantly reduces the system response time, accelerates data processing, and greatly improves user satisfaction."

Dr.Uwe Hommel, Executive Vice President and global support group leader of SAP, said: "The close cooperation between SAP and Huawei not only increase business outcomes but also streamlines Sinopec’s financial management."
