HP unveils ‘the future of Big Data analytics’

HP Vetrica OnDemand delivers analytics; HP IDOL OnDemand provides web services.

By Ellie Burns

HP has unveiled HP Haven OnDemand, a platform which they are hailing as ‘the future of big data analytics.’

Organisations of all sizes can now tap into key components of the HP Haven Enterprise platform, including HP Vetrica OnDemand and HP IDOL OnDemand.

Unveiled by HP’s Robert Longjohns at this year’s HP Discover, the platform enables customers to analyse all forms of data, including business data, machine data, and unstructured, human information.

Running on the HP Helion cloud, HP Haven OnDemand enables organisations to gain fast insights, rapid time to value and analytic functionality on all types of data within minutes.

HP Vetrica OnDemand delivers, via the cloud, enterprise class Big Data analytics. HP promises simplicity and ease of use with the platform, boasting that there has been no compromise on performance or flexibility. Available in a range of consumption models, the HP Vetrica can be deployed within minutes.

HP IDOL OnDemand is a set of Big Data web services that developers, partners, and customers can use to build next-gen
apps. Unique functions include contextual search, sentiment analysis and face detection. HP reported that over 5,000 developers have already signed up to the service.

"To succeed in today’s marketplace, businesses must be able to leverage all forms of data, at high speed and in context, in order to capitalize on emerging opportunities and manage risk and costs," said Robert Youngjohns, GM and EVP, HP Software.
