HP revamps ArcSight portfolio with improved data analytics

The updates include HP ArcSight Threat Detector 2.0 and HP ArcSight Threat Response Manager 5.5.

By CBR Staff Writer

HP has updated its HP ArcSight portfolio which claimed to offer integrated security analytics for big data with expanded identity monitoring to speed up the detection of persistent threats.

The updates include HP ArcSight Threat Detector 2.0 with out-of-the-box threat profiles and threat profile intelligence, as well as HP ArcSight Threat Response Manager 5.5 with cloud-ready, closed-loop capabilities for accelerated threat detection and response to mitigate advanced persistent threats (APTs).

According to the company, the applications jointly process events at scale, offer deep insights, correlate user context, and provide actionable intelligence to decrease the risk of APTs.

HP Enterprise Security Products ArcSight VP and general manager Haiyan Song said that the adversaries only need to get it right once to invoke serious damage on an organisation’s private data and ability to provide critical service or corporate reputation.

"With solutions designed to enhance threat detection through improved security analytics for big data, HP enables customers to quickly identify potential attackers and take action proactively to minimise business impact and prevent disruption to critical client services," Song added.

The company has also expanded the capabilities of HP TRM, which is offered as a virtualised appliance on VMware, offering better deployment flexibility to meet security needs beyond the data centre and into the cloud.
