HP has launched a new Big Data Discovery Experience information management and analytics (IM&A) service which will allow its clients to leverage Big Data assets to explore new revenue opportunities, improve efficiency, reduce risk and lower costs.

The new service, called the HP Big Data Discovery Experience, offers an information ecosystem to explore different technologies .

It also aims to help companies get insights from their own data to act on the information.

The company said it supports a low-risk, rapid path to leveraging Big Data technologies for innovation and enhanced business results, the new platform is offered as a service with Big Data consultants and data scientists, facilitated processes and advanced technologies.

Additionally, the new service doesn’t require clients to make an initial investment for skilled resources, software and hardware.

HP Analytics vice president Markus Ruff, said a Big Data application would be a significant investment of time and money for any organisation.

"HP’s approach brings business and IT together from the beginning to help clients shorten the time to start a Big Data initiative and discover new business insight to make better and quicker decisions," Ruff said.

In addition, the company’s consultants will work with a client’s staff to direct on and conducting a series of planning sessions to consider current and future state necessities, while diagnostic assessments will also be performed across the critical dimensions of people, processes and data readiness.

The service would also allows creating a functional proof of concept, roadmap and business justification as per key insights based on client data, while enabling clients to explore various types of data with industry-specific use cases and analytical models.
