HP buys data storage company 3PAR for $2.35bn

Allow clients to maximise storage utilisation and balance workloads

By CBR Staff Writer

HP has acquired the data storage company 3PAR for an enterprise value of $2.35bn or a price of $33 per share in cash.

HP claims that 3PAR technologies expands its storage portfolio into enterprise-class public and private cloud computing environments, which are key growth markets for the company.

3PAR’s technology complements HP’s current storage portfolio which enables clients to maximise storage utilisation, balance workloads and automate storage tiering that allows them to improve productivity and efficiently operate their storage networks.

In addition, as part of HP converged infrastructure portfolio, which integrates servers, storage, networking and management technologies, 3PAR offerings will strengthen HP’s ability to simplify data centre environments for clients.
