Hortonworks want to help ease the path to becoming a data-driven organisation with its Big Data Scorecard.

The scorecard framework offers a five-step assessment which includes questions like, how ready an organisation is for a Big Data strategy and plan, and the organisation’s current data and analytics pipeline.

Other questions in the assessment ask if the right people and skills are present to take the project to the next level, and require the defining goals and metrics that will showcase Big Data success.

After the survey, the Joint Innovation Program is available to customers, this works to help customers identify the opportunities in their industry, to build a holistic strategy and then deliver a plan.

Hortonworks is utilising the Design Thinking methodology to work with its customers to complete an ‘innovation workshop’, this should help to better understand customer needs so that a business case and roadmap can be developed.

Design Thinking is a repeatable problem solving protocol.
