Hitachi has introduced new converged systems and services which are claimed to speed up adoption of the SAP HANA platform.

The firm said the converged system can revamp legacy supply chain management, customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning applications based on traditional database deployments using the Hitachi Unified Compute Platform (UCP) Select for SAP HANA and Hitachi "Live in Five" services.

According to the company, the offerings help customers to leverage the in-memory transactional and analytic systems as well as support future applications built for the SAP HANA platform.

Hitachi Data Systems Solutions Marketing vice president Ravi Chalaka said that the company’s products are helping to increase adoption for enterprises that need the value of ultra-high-speed in-memory analytics and data protection.

"In addition, we anticipate enterprises can further ensure an increase in protection for in-memory data in environments such as those running SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse on SAP HANA with Hitachi TrueCopy and Symantec NetBackup," Chalaka added.

Hitachi UCP enables customers to speed up analytics with SAP HANA on a high-performing and scalable platform that can have 16 nodes with 8TB of memory.

The Hitachi Storage adaptor is expected to integrate functions of Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) with SAP NetWeaver Landscape Virtualisation Management software.
