Future Systems Solutions has unveiled a new version of hard disk backup and disk upgrade offering Casper 6.0, which enables the creation of bootable PC backup for use when disaster strikes.

The company claims that the Windows 7, Vista, XP and Windows 2000 users will benefit from the new offering taking advantage of enhanced backup capabilities including creation of an immediately-bootable backup replacement for a failed or corrupted hard disk; recovery; and integrated scheduling with power management.

According to Future Systems, features of Casper 6.0 include enhanced support for all versions of Windows 7, including new functionality available only to Windows 7 users; new solid state drive (SSD) and LDS support; and SmartAlert email notifications.

Other features include new runtime controls that allow users to change power management and notification options after a backup is underway; and USB boot capability, which creates full bootable copy of windows system drive that can boot and run directly from an external USB drive, the company added.
